There’s No IMF Conditionality on mandatory Electriity tariff increase
This Government is simply wicked. There’s no where in the IMF Conditionality that says we should increase electricity in Ghana every Quarter. NO WHERE!!

The IMF Document, Page 67, simply talks about quarterly adjustment which is cost reflective with the indicators being inflation, cedi/dollar exchange rate, fuel.

The PURC is supposed to track the movement in these indicators and that should reflect in the adjustment. Nothing like compulsory increase..

Indeed, reading the IMF Conditionality which the PURC document attached has confirmed, Ghana shld currently have a decrease in electricity tariffs and not an increase.

The reason is becos, going by the conditionality which I have attached, all the indicators since 2025 have massively improved and if tracked and used as the indicators, we should not be experiencing tariff increase.

Find attached and read for yourself the IMF and PURC documents which confirm this fact.

If any NDC member tells you there is any such thing as mandatory increase in IMF Document, dare them to show you the page.

Throw that propaganda in a bin, it’s a lie!!

Join the The People’s Forum to call on government to reduce the killer ECG tarrifs.
