Kojo Frempong woos Dutch investors for Wenchi and Ghana

Former New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Wenchi constituency in the Bono Region, Kojo Frempong, has engaged several investors and business leaders in the Netherlands in a bid to attract investors for the Wenchi constituency and the Bono Region as a whole.

The Dutch quest forms part of the former media personality’s mission to continue highlighting the potential for investment in the Bono and Ahafo regions, with a specific emphasis on Wenchi.

Mr Frempong, who participated in the Netherlands-Ghana Business and Tourism Expo and the Agribusiness, Trade and Investment Mission to the Netherlands from 17 to 27 September 2025, held several meetings with Dutch and other investors, introducing Ghana, the Bono Region, and the Wenchi constituency to them, essentially showcasing the unique Agribusiness opportunities available to them.

Kojo Frempong’s participation in the events has shifted between moderating panels, anchoring a high-level business dinner with some Dutch investors, and engaging in direct constructive trade opportunities with investment facilitators who know and understand the Dutch investment ecosystem.

In an interview on the sidelines of the two significant events in the Netherlands, Kojo Frempong noted that the Wenchi constituency is exceptional because of its unique history and also due to the various cash crops and staples that its farmers grow.

Wenchi produces one-third of all the cashews that are grown in Ghana, as well as mangoes. Farmers also grow vegetables and staples such as maize and yams, which are also cultivated in large quantities.

“In my interactions with over 20 investors I engaged, I introduced the Wenchi constituency and the Bono Region of Ghana as a whole to them, and I disclosed to them the various business avenues they can explore in the constituencies of the Bono Region, particularly the Wenchi constituency.

“The value chain from primary agriculture through value addition and its subsequent export potential is replete with opportunities for investors to make decent money,” Kojo Frempong remarked.

“All the investors I met with expressed their interest in exploring investment opportunities in Wenchi. As a follow-up, most of them are willing to come over to Ghana for further consultation, feasibility studies, and direct contact with constituents to move the conversation forward.”

“Even more exciting is to herald already mature businesses in Ghana, from manufacturing to banking, the opportunity to attract Dutch investment, and we are working with people who understand the ecosystem very well to improve our trade relations,” Mr Frimpong further remarked.

Bonafide Wenchi

Mr. Kojo Frempong contested the Wenchi seat as the New Patriotic Party candidate. Despite his loss, the former TV presenter and Head of Corporate Affairs at the Minerals Income Investment Fund has not shied away from his desire to improve the lives of his people in Wenchi.

All four of my grandparents come from Wenchi. I am bona fide Wenchinian. Working for Wenchi every day and everywhere is in my blood. I will not rest until we can bring something significant to the fortune and economy of Wenchi, so help me God”, Kojo Frempong said.
