Captain Smart calls out Mahama’s cabinet for lack of results after eight months

The host of Onua Maakye, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, popularly known as Captain Smart, has criticised President John Dramani Mahama‘s administration, claiming that none of his ministers have achieved anything meaningful after eight months in office.

According to the outspoken broadcaster, aside from President Mahama himself, no member of his government has shown a significant legacy that can be highlighted as progress for the country.

“Come and sit here and tell me you are doing something. Yesterday, I told JB something, and he was just staring at my face. I told them that now eight years is over and former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo is sitting at home. All the ministries, which one of them has brought something important for Ghanaians to discuss? Not even one,” he argued on his show.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government, led by John Dramani Mahama, was sworn into office on January 7, 2025, after winning the 2024 general elections.

In his campaign, Mahama promised to reduce the size of his government and implement a 24-hour economy to stimulate job creation and growth.

However, the administration has faced early setbacks. Two ministers, Dr Edward Boamah, Minister of Defence, and Dr Ibrahim Murtala, Minister of Science, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash, a development that has further complicated Mahama’s governance agenda.
