Central Regional House of Chiefs being Denied Access to Prez. Mahama

For reasons best known to those around President John Dramani Mahama, the Central Regional House of Chiefs are being denied access to the President, Whispers Media Network can report on authority.

The revered Paramount Chiefs from the Region have been prevented from meeting the President with their concerns.

The Chiefs who have expressed disappointment and disquiet over the rumoured suspension of the Chief Justice have sought to see the President over the matter.

While it is not clear if the President is deliberately avoiding the Chiefs or not, there are strong indications of the President being in the know of their presence and willingness to speak with him.

It only goes to confirm the fact that the entire government machinery led by the President, have decided to suspend Her Ladyship Gertrude Torkornoo, the Chief Justice, and damn the consequences.

For a region that voted massively for the NDC in both parliamentary and presidential elections, one would expect that the Chiefs would be respected by the President and his team.

The rumours of the impending removal of the Chief Justice has sparked condemnations across the length and breadth of the country.

Chiefs, lawyers, judges, opinion leaders and civil society organizations have roundly condemned the decision to remove the CJ since it affects the principle of separation of powers as enshrined in Ghana’s constitution.
