Police arrest ‘Ebo Noah’ over failed flood prophecy

The Ghana Police Service has arrested Evans Eshun, popularly known as Ebo Noah, the man whose apocalyptic prophecies sparked widespread fear and anxiety across the country.

Police sources say Ebo Noah was apprehended on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, following a series of controversial incidents linked to his failed doomsday prediction on Christmas Day and his subsequent public appearance at a major music concert.

Authorities became increasingly concerned after reports emerged that hundreds of people, some travelling from neighbouring countries, had abandoned their homes to gather at his so-called “ark site,” carrying luggage and supplies. Security agencies warned that the situation posed potential humanitarian and public safety risks.

Ebo Noah first gained national and international attention in August 2025 after claiming he had received divine instructions to construct ten modern-day arks to save humanity from a three-year global flood.

According to him, the rains were to begin on December 25, 2025, drawing parallels with the biblical story of Noah. For months, his TikTok and YouTube platforms featured videos of the 30-year-old, dressed in sackcloth, overseeing the construction of wooden vessels.

He claimed to have acquired more than 250,000 pieces of timber and described the arks as the only safe haven for believers.

However, when Christmas Day passed without incident, Ebo Noah released a viral video in which he claimed that his prayers and a three-week fast had convinced God to postpone the destruction.

Public outrage intensified when he appeared on stage at Sarkodie’s Rapperholic 2025 concert, dressed in his trademark robes, urging fans to celebrate because the disaster had been delayed.

The appearance triggered widespread backlash on social media, with many accusing him of deceiving the public and calling for his arrest.

The Ghana Police Service earlier, ahead of 31st December, 2025 all night services by various Christian denominations, warned that any religious figure whose declarations create public anxiety or tension will be dealt with in accordance with the law.

However, the GPS is yet to assess the numerous prophesies and decide which ones crossed the lines of the directives given.

In the meantime, the famed ‘Ebo Noah’ is still in the custody of the Ghana Police Service.
