Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo is optimistic about the Black Stars’ prospects at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The four-time African champions, who missed out on the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in over two decades, have bounced back strongly to secure qualification for football’s biggest tournament, which will be co-hosted by the United States of America, Canada and Mexico.

Drawn into Group L alongside Panama, England, and Croatia, Ghana will be aiming to improve on their group-stage exit at the last World Cup in Qatar.

Semenyo, now with Manchester City, expressed confidence that the team can make a strong impression at the tournament.

“The World Cup is going to be amazing. Hopefully, we will do well. I am looking forward to playing in it,” he told CBS Sports.

Ghana will open their campaign against Panama on June 17 in Toronto, before taking on England in Boston and wrapping up the group stage against Croatia on June 27 in Philadelphia.

As part of preparations for the tournament, the Black Stars are also scheduled to play international friendlies against Austria and Germany in March.
