The Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has summoned members of the Asanteman Council, the highest traditional authority in the Ashanti Kingdom, for a meeting scheduled for Monday, August 11, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Registrar of the Council, Kwame Adusei Agyemang, members of the Asanteman Council were directed to attend the meeting without fail. It is slated for 10:00 a.m. at the Manhyia Palace.

“I am directed by Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Asantehene, to invite Nananom to a meeting of the Council scheduled as follows:

– Date: Monday, August 11, 2025

– Venue: Manhyia Palace

– Time: 10:00 a.m. prompt,” the statement, dated August 7, 2025, read.

The purpose of the meeting, however, was not disclosed.

The Asanteman Council, chaired by the Asantehene, includes traditional leaders such as paramount chiefs, divisional chiefs, and other individuals holding chieftaincy positions within the kingdom.
