Communications Director of Asante Kotoko, Lawyer Sarfo Duku, has expressed strong confidence in the club’s chances of overcoming Wydad Casablanca in their upcoming CAF Confederation Cup clash.
Speaking in an interview with Gideon Okyere Anim (Gatusso) on Original TV, Sarfo Duku pointed to historical performances and the team’s recent momentum as key reasons for his optimism.
“Looking at our history and current form, we are in a strong position. Kotoko will beat Wydad and progress to the next round,” Duku stated.
Duku’s comments come on the heels of Asante Kotoko’s vital 1-0 win over Kwara United in the second leg of their CAF Confederation Cup tie. The result secured a 5-3 aggregate victory for the Porcupine Warriors, allowing them to advance to the next stage of the competition.
Kotoko now prepares to face Moroccan giants Wydad Casablanca, a club with a rich history in African football. Despite Wydad’s reputation, Sarfo Duku believes Kotoko’s legacy and current squad are more than capable of rising to the challenge.
“Wydad is a strong team, no doubt. But Kotoko has faced giants before and triumphed. We have what it takes, and I’m confident we’ll qualify,” he added.
