The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has scheduled a ballot process for its 31st Presidential Primary to determine candidates’ positions on the ballot paper for the upcoming January 31, 2025, election. The balloting is set for Friday, October 10, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the party’s headquarters in Asylum Down.

In a press statement/release dated October 7, 2025, William Yamoh, Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee, invited the five vetted aspirants to participate. The list includes Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong, Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, and Hon. Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum. The NPP congratulated the candidates on their successful vetting and urged confirmation of receipt by contacting the Secretary of the Presidential Elections Committee.

The primary election, a key step in the NPP’s democratic process, will shape the party’s leadership contest ahead of Ghana’s general elections. With the event just two days away as of October 8, 2025, at 1:15 p.m. GMT, preparations are underway at the Asylum Down headquarters.

The NPP, known for its motto “Development in Freedom,” has outlined the process to ensure transparency. Aspirants and party officials are expected to cooperate fully, with the outcome influencing campaign strategies for the 2025 presidential primaries’ race.
