Ghana Football Association (GFA) President and 2nd Vice-President of CAF, Kurt Edwin Simeon-Okraku has been appointed as the Chairperson of the FIFA Anti-Racism and Anti-Discrimination Committee for a four-year term from 2025 to 2029.

This appointment marks a significant milestone in his leadership career and highlights Ghana’s growing influence in international football governance.

In this role, Kurt Okraku will spearhead FIFA’s strategic initiatives and reforms focused on combating racism and all forms of discrimination in football worldwide.

His leadership is expected to advance equality, inclusivity, and respect at all levels of the sport, from grassroots to professional competitions.

He will be supported by Mark Wade of Bermuda, appointed as Deputy Chairperson, alongside 19 other members representing FIFA’s diverse Member Associations.

This committee is central to FIFA’s commitment to promoting unity and social transformation through football, reflecting confidence in Simeon-Okraku’s vision and experience.

Before this global appointment, Simeon-Okraku served two terms as President of the West African Football Union (WAFU) Zone B and currently holds the position of 2nd Vice President of CAF, making him the third-highest official in the Confederation.

Since becoming GFA President in 2019 and re-elected in 2023, he has driven reforms that have enhanced growth, transparency, and development in Ghanaian football.

Simeon-Okraku brings a strong background in football management and administration, with past experience as Communications and Marketing Manager for Accra Hearts of Oak.

An alumnus of the University of Liverpool, he holds an MBA in Football Administration and additional qualifications in journalism, business administration, and tourism, equipping him with the strategic expertise necessary for modern football governance.
