Black Stars captain, Jordan Ayew, has emphasised the importance of staying focused ahead of Ghana’s final Group I qualifier against Comoros.

The match is set for Sunday, October 12, at the Accra Sports Stadium, where the four-time African champions will look to secure their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana boosted their qualification hopes with a commanding 5-0 victory over the Central African Republic on Wednesday, played at the Stade d’Honneur de Meknès in Morocco.

The team’s dazzling performance featured goals from Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew himself, and Kamaldeen Sulemana, showcasing the Black Stars’ attacking prowess.

Despite the impressive win, Ayew has called for calm and concentration among his teammates. “Nothing changes for us. It’s still an important game, there’s something at stake, and that’s to win and finish the job,” Ayew told 3Sports.

He stressed that complacency must be avoided as Ghana aims to close out the group stage with another positive result. Ayew expressed belief in the team’s ability to maintain strong form and play with passion.

“We want to finish hard, finish strong, and make sure we enjoy ourselves on the pitch while making the fans proud. I hope they come to celebrate with us,” he said, inviting fans to support the team at the Accra Sports Stadium.
