Your Arrogance Has Gone Too Far – Enough is Enough

Mr Gabby Asare Ochere-Darko,

I have read with utter disbelief and outrage your recent statement suggesting that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s sincere apology to Ghanaians is “self defeating posture” and ‘a political suicidal to apologize to Ghanaians’. Your words reek of arrogance, self-importance, and an astonishing lack of self-awareness. For someone whose shadow loomed so darkly over the Akufo-Addo administration, you have absolutely no moral right to speak about who deserves the trust of Ghanaians.

Let’s be clear — you, Gabby Ochere-Darko, were one of the central figures who brought the NPP government into consistent public disrepute. You held no official portfolio, yet you wielded power recklessly, manipulated appointments, and interfered in governance as though the Republic of Ghana was your family inheritance. Your influence was so suffocating that many within government nicknamed you the “Prime Minister,” not out of admiration but out of frustration at your arrogance and overreach.

Every major controversy and scandal during the Akufo-Addo administration somehow had your fingerprints on it. You operated from behind the curtain, pulling strings, silencing dissent, and enriching cronies — while hardworking, loyal party members were sidelined and the image of our great party suffered. You must be reminded that it is your kind of elitist interference that alienated the NPP from ordinary Ghanaians and nearly cost the party its moral soul.

For you to now turn around and mock Dr. Bawumia — a man who has shown humility, courage, and leadership — is not only hypocritical but an insult to the intelligence of Ghanaians. Dr. Bawumia’s apology was not a weakness; it was an act of moral courage, a mark of integrity, and a gesture of genuine leadership. Only cowards and self-absorbed opportunists mistake humility for weakness.

You, Mr. Ochere-Darko, have been a loud symbol of entitlement and arrogance in Ghanaian politics. You embody the very attitude that the youth of this country are determined to uproot — the backdoor manipulation of power by unelected, unaccountable individuals who hide behind family ties to dictate the destiny of the nation.

If there is anyone who owes Ghanaians an apology, it is you. You should be on your knees begging for forgiveness for the countless misjudgments, conflicts of interest, and needless controversies that you and your clique dragged this government into. Your political interference was one of the greatest liabilities to President Akufo-Addo’s administration, and Ghanaians have not forgotten.

So before you open your mouth to attack Dr. Bawumia — a man who represents discipline, intellect, and a forward-looking vision for Ghana — take a long look in the mirror. The people have grown weary of your brand of politics: the arrogance, the entitlement, the manipulative posturing, and the self-serving commentary that adds no value to the party or the country.

Let this serve as a caution: the era of silent endurance is over. The grassroots of the NPP, the patriots who built this party with sweat and loyalty, will no longer sit quietly while individuals like you continue to parade yourselves as untouchable power brokers. You have had your time, and that time has expired.

If you truly care about the NPP and Ghana, step aside. Allow genuine patriots and competent leaders to restore the dignity of this great party. Stop polluting public discourse with your misguided arrogance and unsolicited opinions. Ghana needs humility, not hubris; service, not self-importance; vision, not vanity.

You have embarrassed this party long enough. You and your kind were part of the reason Ghanaians lost faith in the Akufo-Addo administration. Now, Dr. Bawumia is working hard to rebuild that trust through honesty, integrity, and accountability. Do not stand in his way.

Your self-appointed relevance has expired. The people of Ghana have seen through the smokescreen. We will not allow individuals with no electoral mandate, no conscience, and no credibility to dictate the future of this nation again.

Enough of your arrogance, Gabby. Step back — before history writes your name in the darkest chapter of our political story.
