Senior lecturer at Kumasi Technical University, Dr Sampson Anomah, has strongly defended the presidential candidacy of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, praising his leadership qualities and significant contributions to job creation.
In an interview, Dr. Anomah described the former Vice President as a visionary leader whose ideas have directly impacted millions of Ghanaians.
“Bawumia is not just a president figure but a great mind in creating jobs. His one idea has created 4 million jobs for the youth and adults,” Dr. Anomah said.
He criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), accusing them of political inconsistency in how they present their candidates to the public. He referenced the transition of leadership following the death of President Atta Mills and the subsequent rise of John Mahama.
“When the late President Atta Mills appointed John Mahama as Vice President, and when he passed on, Ghanaians gave Mahama the chance to lead. The NDC painted him as clean as snow to convince Ghanaians to vote for him again,” he remarked.
Dr. Anomah urged the NPP to fully support and groom Dr. Bawumia for the 2026 elections, emphasizing the importance of judging candidates based on substance rather than sentiment.
“What the party should look for is the candidate’s policies, strategy, and the ability to improve lives,” he stated.
He also acknowledged the strength of the other aspirants in the flagbearer race, saying: “All four aspirants in the party are good, but time will determine who should lead.
