“That’s Not Fair” – What Sefa Kayi Told Kwamena Duncan After Harsh Comment About Mahama

Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo” got heated on Wednesday after former Central Regional Minister Kwamena Duncan launched a stinging attack on President John Dramani Mahama.

Kwamena Duncan was reacting to the President’s recent call for the swift prosecution and imprisonment of public officials involved in financial misconduct. Mahama made the statement at the 12th Annual Conference of Governing Boards and Chief Directors held in Ho, where he insisted that the days of watching state funds vanish without consequence must end.

“Those found guilty of misusing public funds must face a fast-track process straight to Nsawam,” Mahama declared.

But that didn’t sit well with Kwamena Duncan, who fired back on Kokrokoo, saying Mahama himself should be the one heading to Nsawam.

“If there’s anyone who deserves that fast-track ticket to Nsawam, it’s him,” Duncan said sharply, drawing gasps from listeners.

His comment, however, didn’t go unchecked. The show’s host, Kwami Sefa Kayi, quickly cut in to caution him.

“Kwamena, that’s not a fair comment. We’re speaking about the President of the Republic,” Sefa Kayi said firmly, trying to restore balance to the discussion.

Another panellist, Chief Nixon Hamilton Biney, a former Deputy National Organiser of the NDC, also joined in, describing Duncan’s statement as unnecessary and disrespectful.

The exchange has since triggered debate online, with Ghanaians split between those who believe Kwamena Duncan “only said the truth” and others who feel Sefa Kayi was right to call him out for crossing the line.

It was one of those mornings on Kokrokoo when the political temperature went from cool to fiery — fast.
