The Law School of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA Law School) has secured a new scholarship agreement with Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah, USA.

Dr Kwaku Agyeman-Budu, Dean of the GIMPA Law School secured the BYU deal on the sidelines of the Law and Religion Conference which took place at BYUs Center for Law and Religion Studies from 5th to 8th October.

In the BYU agreement, GIMPA Law School can nominate an exceptional final year student or an alumni to access a full scholarship to pursue a Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) programme at BYU in Provo, Utah (USA).

The scholarship is worth about $100,000.00 and includes flight tickets, accommodation, tuition, living expenses/monthly stipend, and the student can bring his or her family along as well.

In a meeting with his counterpart, the Dean of the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU, Prof. David Moore, Dr. Agyeman-Budu expressed sincere appreciation for the generous opportunity given to GIMPA Law School students for the foreseeable future.

GIMPA Law School in recent times is noted for providing study abroad opportunities and scholarships for postgraduate legal education for its students and alumni through partnerships/collaborations with several Universities around the world including Temple University, University of Connecticut and Fordham University.

The latest agreement with BYU Law signifies GIMPA Law School’s leading role in building and empowering the next generation of legal professionals and scholars for Ghana, which has contributed in earning GIMPA Law the enviable position as the leading Law School in Ghana within the past few years.

Founded in 1973, the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University (BYU Law) has grown into one of the nation’s leading law schools.

BYU Law’s teaching mission extends beyond the boundaries of the classrooms with the goal to produce leaders within communities and throughout the world.

BYU Law receives support from and is affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a religiously affiliated Law School, BYU Law provides an intellectually and spiritually invigorating community. The development of moral character and enlightened devotion to the rule of law are hallmarks of a BYU Law School education.
