The New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman for Dormaa West, Kwame Owusu, has expressed strong confidence that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is destined for victory in the next general elections, citing his calm disposition and unifying leadership style as clear signs of his readiness to lead.

Speaking during Dr. Bawumia’s visit to the Dormaa West constituency as part of his Bono Region tour, Mr. Owusu said the former Vice President’s approach to politics has restored hope and renewed energy within the party.

“If we are to be truthful, before Dr. Bawumia was elected as flagbearer ahead of the 2024 polls, the party was in disarray. I believe we would not have secured more than 20 percent of the votes had the elections been held at that time,” he said.

He commended Dr. Bawumia for his hard work and resilience, saying that despite limited time for campaigning, the NPP made significant progress under his leadership.

“Dr. Bawumia worked hard and helped the party make significant progress in the elections despite the limited time for campaigning,” Mr. Owusu noted.

He also lauded the party’s leadership for organising an early congress, which he believes will give Dr. Bawumia enough time to prepare for the next polls.

“We also want to thank the party’s leadership for organizing an early congress. This will give him enough time to prepare and campaign effectively,” he said.

According to him, Dr. Bawumia’s temperament and maturity in handling criticism demonstrate his commitment to unity and the greater good of the party.

“Everything indicates that Dr. Bawumia is poised to win. This is evident in his conduct throughout the campaign; he does not respond to insults because he understands the greater responsibility of uniting everyone after the elections,” Mr. Owusu added.

Dr. Bawumia’s tour of the Bono Region today will include stops in Dormaa Central and East Constituencies.
