“Go Home If You Won’t Play” — Sports Minister to Black Queens

Tensions are mounting in the Black Queens camp as a dispute over unpaid bonuses threatens to derail preparations for their crucial WAFCON Qualifier second leg against Egypt.

Reliable information available to MetroTVOnline.com reveals that a heated meeting took place between the team and the Minister of Youth and Sports, Hon. Kofi Adams, after the players reportedly boycotted training in protest over outstanding payments.

Sources say team leaders pressed the minister for a clear timeline on when their bonuses would be settled. However, Hon. Adams is alleged to have responded bluntly that he had no exact payment date, adding that any player unwilling to play could pack up and return home. The remark has reportedly caused unrest and frustration within the squad.

In a swift move to calm tensions, GFA President Kurt Okraku is said to have convened an emergency meeting with the players, appealing to them to reconsider their stance and honor Tuesday’s decisive clash with Egypt.
