Gender identity content in a teacher’s manual was deliberate, not an error—Ntim Fordjour insists

The Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev John Ntim Fordjour, has rejected claims that controversial gender-related content found in a teacher’s manual was included by mistake, insisting it was a deliberate decision by the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA).

Speaking in an interview on JoyNews’ AM Show while discussing the ongoing NaCCA controversy over gender definitions, Rev Fordjour said the so-called revised version of the material still contains what he describes as problematic content, despite assurances that the issues have been resolved.

To support his claim, the MP said he reviewed the revised definitions and found that little had changed.

“In the definition, ‘sexual orientation, their sexuality’, the revised one they sent, [is defined as] a broad range of concepts related to sexual feelings, thoughts, attractions, behaviours. It includes sexual orientation, sexual behaviour, and sexual identity. How is that different? It’s still the same thing,” he said.

He added that the definition of sexual orientation remains unchanged.

“It describes a person’s pattern of emotional, romantic, or sexual attraction to others. The same thing remains here. It’s the same thing,” he stated.

According to him, the only noticeable changes were made to the definition of gender, while other areas he finds objectionable were left untouched.

“The only thing they have changed, only two things; every other problematic LGBT agenda still remains,” he said. “So if they change just these two and think they have cured it, they have not cured it.”

Based on this, the Assin South MP said he believes the inclusion of the content was intentional.

“That is why I conclude that it is not an error, it is not an omission, but it is a deliberate attempt to poison the minds of the people,” he said.
