Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, has called on delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to vote overwhelmingly for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s flagbearer ahead of the 2028 general elections.

According to the MP, Dr Bawumia brings to the table innovative and life-transforming ideas that Ghana needs at this critical stage of its development, making him the right choice to lead the party into the next elections.

“Dr Bawumia comes to the table with life-transforming ideas that this country needs,” Mr Oppong Nkrumah said in a video recording circulating on social media. He described the former Vice President as a strong and credible candidate capable of winning national support.

He further highlighted Dr Bawumia’s character and electoral appeal, stressing that the NPP must present a candidate whose ideas resonate with voters across the country. “He’s winnable and has good character. As a political party, we want his ideas to be so attractive that they win us power,” he stated.

Dr Bawumia is currently touring the country as part of efforts to secure the support of NPP delegates ahead of the party’s flagbearer election scheduled for January 31.

In a Facebook post after a recent tour of the Ashanti Region, Dr Bawumia said he had received strong backing from delegates in several constituencies, including Ejura-Sekyedumase, Mampong, Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo and Afigya Kwabre North.

“Our journey to victory continued yesterday in Ejura-Sekyedumase, Mampong, Nsuta-Kwamang-Beposo and Afigya Kwabre North constituencies,” he wrote, expressing gratitude for what he described as overwhelming endorsement from party delegates.
