Andy Owusu Sefwi Wiawso writes;
The New Patriotic Party has once again written a powerful chapter in its democratic journey. In a calm, transparent, and peaceful process, the party successfully concluded its flagbearer election. an exercise that showcased maturity, discipline, and deep respect for democratic values.
Five distinguished patriots stepped forward to offer leadership and vision: Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Dr. Bryan Acheampong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, and Ing. Kwabena Agyapong. Each brought ideas, conviction, and commitment to the party’s future. In the end, the delegates spoke, and Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emerged as the duly elected flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party.
What makes this moment truly remarkable is not just the result, but the response. Every aspirant has demonstrated statesmanship by accepting the outcome in good faith and rallying behind the chosen candidate. This is the mark of a party that puts unity above division, progress above pride, and Ghana above all else.
Now is not the time for camps or corners. This is the time for convergence. Supporters from every fold, young and old, grassroots and leadership, first time voters and party elders,must rise above past alignments and move forward as one indivisible force with a shared mission.
The contest has ended. The assignment has begun.
The road ahead leads to the 2028 general election, and our collective responsibility is clear: to close ranks, strengthen our bonds, and channel our energy toward victory. With unity as our compass and peace as our foundation, the party can present a formidable, credible, and forward-looking vision to the Ghanaian people.
When we stand together, we are unstoppable.
One party. One purpose. One future.
