The Colleges of Education Teachers Association of Ghana has confirmed that its strike, which began in November last year, is still in force due to unresolved concerns with the government.
In a memo dated January 12, 2026, and signed by the National Executive Officers, CETAG said it has not called off the industrial action that started on November 24, 2025. The association explained that there has been no meaningful response from the government to the issues raised by teachers.
According to CETAG, the lack of progress leaves no basis for members to resume work. The leadership stressed that until their concerns are addressed, the strike will continue.
The association added that students, parents, and the general public will be informed promptly should there be any new developments regarding the strike.
