Global InfoAnalytics projects Bawumia to win 14 regions in NPP primaries

The Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, Mussa Dankwah, has projected a commanding victory for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia in the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) presidential primaries scheduled for Saturday, January 31, predicting that the former Vice President will win in 14 out of the party’s 16 regions.

He further forecast a landslide victory for Dr Bawumia in the Ashanti Region, the NPP’s traditional stronghold.

Speaking to the media, Mussa Dankwah said all available data points to a clear and decisive win for Dr. Bawumia.

“Our analysis shows that Dr Bawumia will win in 14 of the 16 regions. Every indicator we have examined is pointing in the same direction—a one-touch victory for Bawumia this Saturday,” he stated.

According to Global InfoAnalytics’ projection model, Dr Bawumia is expected to secure between 54 and 60 per cent of the total votes, taking into account a three per cent margin of error.

“Based on our projections, his lowest possible outcome is 54 per cent, which is the 57 per cent estimate minus the margin of error. On the higher end, he could reach as much as 60 percent,” Dankwah explained.

He attributed the confidence in the forecast to the consistency and stability of the data, noting that there is minimal variability or noise in the results.

While acknowledging that other contenders, including Dr Bryan Acheampong and Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, could improve their performances, Dankwah noted that how votes are shared among the remaining candidates remains uncertain.

The NPP 2026 Presidential Primaries Prediction Survey was conducted between January 20 and January 23, 2026, with a nationwide sample size of 10,133 respondents. The survey covered all 16 regions and 272 constituencies across Ghana
