The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has joined the nation in mourning the passing of Apostle Dr. Kwadwo Safo Kantanka, a revered spiritual leader, inventor, and industrialist whose legacy has left an indelible mark on Ghana’s development.
In a heartfelt statement, the party described Apostle Safo as a symbol of African ingenuity and resilience. His pioneering work in technology, agriculture, and automobile manufacturing especially through the Kantanka Group of Companies was celebrated as a testament to what local innovation can achieve when fueled by faith and determination.

Beyond his industrial feats, Apostle Safo was the founder of the Kristo Asafo Mission, a religious movement that blended spirituality with science, encouraging self-reliance and national pride.
His influence extended into politics as well, with the NPP acknowledging his unwavering support, particularly in the Dome Kwabenya Constituency, where his daughter, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, served as a three-term Member of Parliament.
The NPP extended its deepest condolences to his family, followers, and the entire nation, describing his death as the loss of a “great pillar” and “extraordinary, illustrious citizen.”
The late Apostle Kwadwo Safo ‘Kantanka’ was a well-known Ghanaian entrepreneur and pastor who founded the Kristo Asafo Mission. He was the founder of the Kantanka Automobile, a Ghana-based automotive company that manufactures the Kantanka range of vehicles.
Apostle Kwadwo Safo contributed significantly to technological innovation in Ghana and Africa at large.
