We’ll resolve school placement issues – Education Ministry assures

ACCRA – The Ministry of Education is reassuring parents facing school placement issues with their wards that their concerns will be addressed swiftly.

Hundreds of parents have gathered at the GNAT Hall, a resolution center for placement issues, causing frustration due to long queues for redress.

In an interview with Citi News on Tuesday, September 23, Media Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education, Hashmin Mohammed, stated that measures have been implemented to attend to parents promptly, ensuring effective crowd management.

He further assured that the government is taking lessons from what it has observed to ensure a more coordinated system is put in place in the coming years for placement resolutions.

“We have been able to decongest the crowd because we have moved in a lot of personnel to listen to their issues. Going forward, we will be attending to their issues with speed, and when that is done and they are satisfied then we will not have crowds here.

“We still have much time and when there is the need for that [postponement of reopening date] I think that management and higher authorities will take a decision on that. We believe that we will be able to deal with any issue brought here.”

“Going online will also lead us to a lot of problems. The experience we have gathered for this year, we are hopeful that next year we will factor in those concerns and next year we won’t have such crowds.”
