The Secretary of the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) New York Chapter, Tony Osei-Owusu, has urged party members to uphold unity, discipline, and decorum as the party prepares for its upcoming internal primaries.
In a statement released ahead of the primaries, Osei-Owusu said maintaining internal cohesion was crucial to strengthening the NPP’s electoral chances and ensuring that the party remained focused on service to Ghanaians.
He called on aspirants, delegates, and supporters to conduct their campaigns with mutual respect and avoid personal attacks, insults, or actions that could sow division within the party.
“We must protect the dignity of the NPP and demonstrate the maturity our democracy deserves,” Osei-Owusu stated.
Reaffirming the party’s founding principles of Development in Freedom, Service, and Sacrifice, Osei-Owusu said discipline during the primaries would send a strong signal of readiness for national leadership.
“The strength of our party lies in our unity. We must compete with ideas, not insults, and remember that after the primaries, we are one family,” he added.
The call comes as the NPP intensifies preparations for its presidential and parliamentary primaries ahead of the 2028 general elections, with the party leadership emphasizing peace and internal cohesion as key to its electoral prospects.
