Adwoa Safo Reaffirms Loyalty To Bawumia Amid Allegations Of Supporting Kennedy Agyapong

Former Member of Parliament for the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency, Hon. Sarah Adwoa Safo, has issued a formal press statement denying recent allegations made by The Insight Newspaper.

The publication falsely claimed that she had switched her allegiance from Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to Hon. Kennedy Agyapong.

In her statement, Hon. Safo vehemently rejected these claims, labeling them as false, misleading, and maliciously fabricated. She emphasized that at no point has she expressed support for any other candidate other than Dr. Bawumia. The allegations, according to her, were intended to sow division within the NPP and among her supporters.

“I remain firmly loyal to Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and fully support his vision for both the party and the country,” Hon. Safo stated. She further added that Bawumia’s leadership qualities, including his humility, competence, and resilience, made him the best person to lead the NPP into the 2028 elections.

The former MP also addressed the need for unity within the party, particularly as the NPP moves towards the 2028 general elections. She called on members of the media, especially The Insight Newspaper, to avoid publishing sensational and unverified stories that could harm reputations and distort facts.

Hon. Safo concluded her statement by urging The Insight Newspaper to retract their false publication and issue an official apology. She reiterated her commitment to Dr. Bawumia, the NPP, and the party’s mission to rebuild public trust and secure a victory in 2028.
