Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has paid a condolence visit to former President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama following the recent aircraft accident that claimed the lives of eight government officials.

The tragic incident, which has plunged the nation into mourning, prompted the former president to personally visit the Mahama residence to express sympathy and solidarity during this difficult time. According to sources present, the meeting was marked by heartfelt exchanges and a shared commitment to unity in the face of national loss. Former President Kufuor’s visit was widely described as an exemplary act of statesmanship, demonstrating that political differences must be set aside when the nation grieves.

He was received by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang and other government officials, who expressed gratitude for his gesture of support. The visit has been praised by many Ghanaians as a powerful reminder of the importance of unity beyond political affiliations, especially in moments of collective sorrow.

The accident, which occurred earlier this week, has left the country in shock as investigations continue into the cause of the crash. Many political leaders and civil society organizations have echoed calls for Ghanaians to come together in mourning and support the families of the deceased.

Ghana continues to observe a period of national mourning in honor of the victims. Meanwhile, tributes continue to pour in from across the political divide, as the country reflects on the lives and service of those lost in the tragic incident.
