The Government of Ghana has established a high-level Ministerial Oversight Committee to coordinate the nation’s preparations ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The committee brings together key officials from government, sports, and private sectors to ensure a seamless buildup to Ghana’s participation.
Members of the Committee:
- Stan Xoese Dogbe – Office of the President
- Hon. Kofi Adams – Ministry of Sports and Recreation
- Hon. Samuel O. Ablakwa – Ministry of Foreign Affairs
- Hon. George Opare – Ministry of Youth Development
- Hon. Yusif Jajah – Deputy Minister, Ministry of Tourism and Culture
- Ampem Nyarkoh – Deputy Minister, Ministry of Finance
- Kurt Okraku – Chairman, Ghana Football Association (GFA)
- Elizabeth Yankah – Deputy National Security Coordinator
- Abedi Pele – Former Ghanaian Footballer
- Mrs. Wilhelmina Asamoah – Chief Director, Ministry of Sports
- To Be Appointed – Representative from the private/corporate sector
The 11th member from the private sector will be announced soon, highlighting the government’s intent to integrate corporate expertise in driving Ghana’s World Cup ambitions.
This committee is tasked with overseeing logistics, training, international relations, funding, and fan engagement strategies to ensure Team Ghana is fully prepared for the global stage.
