NPP race: Samira resumes Ashanti tour to campaign for Bawumia

Samira Bawumia, wife of former vice president and 2024 New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, will embark on a series of constituency visits across the Ashanti Region to rally support for her husband as the party’s internal elections draw near.

The campaign which starts today (Monday, 5 January), spans multiple constituencies, with engagements planned from early morning to evening to meet delegates and party supporters.

In Asante Akim Central, the campaign is set to begin at 11:00 a.m. at Konongo, while Juaben will host the afternoon session at 2:00 p.m.

The day will conclude in Kwadaso at 6:00 p.m.

Other constituencies on the trail include Offinso North and South, Tafo, Afigya Kwabre North and South, Manhyia North and South, Akroforum, Obuasi East and West, Mampong,

The rest are, Nsuta Kwaman Beposo, Effiduasi, Atwima Nwabiagya North, Subin, Bekwai, and Atwima Kwanwoma. Local coordinators have been assigned to facilitate the meetings and ensure engagement with delegates.

The campaign, which highlights Dr. Bawumia’s achievements and vision for the party, comes as the NPP prepares for its flagbearer election on 31 January 2026.

In each constituency, the focus will be on connecting with grassroots supporters, outlining policy priorities, and encouraging voter participation in the upcoming flagbearer selection.
