It is high time we told you the gospel truth and a manner that may not be pleasant to your ears and eyes.
We agree with you that politics of insults should be a relic of the past, an obnoxious phenomenon that should not continue to find expression in our politics.
It is for this reason that you seek to criminalize intemperate and insulting languages employed by some of the youth in expressing their disagreements and displeasure about happenings in our politics.
Mr. President, as much as this is a commendable decision, it is also important that we have to be brutally blunt about where to place this blame.
Sir, you are largely to blame for the insults on TikTok, Facebook and other social and messaging platforms by some Ghanaians.
You are the greatest beneficiary of insults in our politics. You encouraged and sponsored Kevin Taylor to vilify Akufo-Addo, Bawumia, Otumfuor Osei Tutu, pastors, Imams and all your political opponents.
Not once did you chastise this man to stop insulting people. He churned out lies which also worked for you in the 2024 elections.
As if that was not enough, you brought him to Ghana after you won the 2024 elections, gave him a VVIP treatment at the Vice President’s residence, and had the Supreme Court quashed a warrant placed on him by a Court of Appeal’s judge.
That was the height of what we could contain. It was more than insulting to our intelligence for you to whitewash Kevin Taylor after he had assassinated people’s characters for no justifiable reasons.
You cannot raise Kevin Taylor to a godfather’s status in terms of insults, for him to insult and lie against your political opponents and when you succeeded in winning power, you turn around to ask that people should stop insulting on the internet.
Those insulting have learned the trade from your darling son, Kevin Taylor, so why are you complaining about it?
Even till now, Kevin Taylor has been insulting opposition NPP members and other non-political leaders on daily basis.
Not until you get your chief attack dog in the disabled shape of Kevin Taylor to end his career of heaping insults and peddling falsehoods against political opponents, nobody will keep quiet in this country.
You felt excited when Kevin Taylor was insulting Akufo-Addo, Bawumia and others for you, now you see how hurtful it is when a fraction of what your darling son, Kevin Taylor dished out to others is coming your way in droves?
Sir, gird up your loins, for until your lead attack dog apologises for the lies he told about people and the insults he rained on others, others who have learned the trade from Kevin Taylor will pour them on you.
