In a special video message posted on his official Instagram account, Infantino extended his warm regards to the Egyptian people, saying, “Mabruk ya Misr! Mabruk!” which translates to “Congratulations Egypt!” He went on to acknowledge Egypt’s rich footballing history and its proud return to the global stage, after a 28-year absence.
“After the 1934, 1990, and 2018 editions, the Egyptian flag will once again fly on the biggest stage of all, in Canada, Mexico, and the USA in 2026. This will be Egypt’s fourth appearance at the greatest global sporting tournament there is,” Infantino added, emphasizing the magnitude of this achievement for Egyptian football.
