An NPP communication team member, Alfred Thompson, has called on Ghanaians to entrust Dr Mahamudu Bawumia with the presidency in 2028, saying the former Vice President has shown the vision and capacity needed to move the country forward.
Speaking on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana on Monday, Thompson said Dr Bawumia’s record in government should give voters confidence in his ability to lead the nation if given the opportunity.
“Ghanaians should give Bawumia the chance to lead,” Thompson said, describing him as a leader who has turned ideas into practical results.
He pointed to what he described as major changes under Dr Bawumia’s digitalisation drive, including the growth of mobile money, improved access to public services through e governance, and the wider use of digital tools in the economy.
According to Thompson, these initiatives have made everyday transactions easier for ordinary people and improved efficiency across government institutions.
He added that the impact of such reforms shows what Dr Bawumia could achieve with the full authority of the presidency.
Thompson also emphasized projects such as the Ghana Card, the use of drones to deliver medical supplies, and the Agenda 111 hospital programme, crediting Dr Bawumia with playing a key role in efforts to modernise national infrastructure and health delivery.
“He is not just talk, he delivers,” Thompson said.
He argued that at a time of global economic uncertainty, Ghana needs leadership grounded in experience rather than trial and error. Thompson urged voters to look beyond party loyalty and consider what he called Dr Bawumia’s proven solutions and track record in government.
Dr Bawumia is the New Patriotic Party’s flagbearer and remains a central figure in political discussions ahead of future national elections.
