Janet Nabla Blasts NDC For Shielding Corrupt Members While Targeting Opponents

Janet Asana Nabla, leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), has strongly condemned the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for its blatant hypocrisy and selective political targeting.

Nabla’s remarks come after the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) continued its investigations into corruption within the political landscape, especially focusing on the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP). Nabla, however, raised serious questions about why the OSP seems to overlook corrupt practices within the NDC.

“NDC’s hypocrisy knows no bounds,” Nabla stated, accusing the party of protecting its own members allegedly involved in corruption. She specifically pointed out the use of the Nolle Prosequi (a legal term indicating that a prosecution is dropped) to shield certain NDC figures from facing justice. Nabla further questioned the OSP’s moral authority, suggesting that it must first recover the looted funds from current NDC members before criticizing the NPP for alleged misconduct.

Despite numerous NDC officials being implicated in galamsey activities, Nabla claimed the party has consistently failed to address the issue, instead turning its attention to opponents like Wontumi, a known businessman and member of the NPP, for similar offenses.

“NDC is blind to its own corruption while targeting others,” Nabla declared, emphasizing the double standards that are apparent in the political witch-hunting practices by the NDC.

She accused the party of inciting the Ghanaian public with demonizing rhetoric, all while its own members remain untouched by the law.
