SALARIES OF PRESIDENTIAL STAFFERS INCREASED FROM GHC 362 MILLION to GHC 540 MILLION IN JUST A YEAR?

.. an explanation Felix Kwakye Ofosu gave to last year’s allocation to Office of Government Machinery (OGM) was that some agencies including the National Security Council were under the Presidency meanwhile they had actually been put under Interior Ministry.

Now in 2026, National Security Council is removed from the OGM, gets a GHC 2.4 billion allocation as Compensation (salaries) alone to their staff while the OGM in 2026 (without the Nation Security Council) gets some GHC 540 million as Compensation to Staff.

Meanwhile in a STRANGE ‘UPDATED’ version of the 2025 Budget Statement–currently on the website of the Ministry of Finance and different from what was circulated in March this year–where now the National Security Council expenditure is removed from the OGM and placed under the Ministry of Interior, an actual Compensation for Staff of OGM alone stood at some GHC 362 million. That’s a STAGGERING INCREASE of about GHC 178 million in just one year.

Ghanaians demand clear answers to this scary happenings in the Office of the President and the practice of using the National Security Council as a catalyst for these confusions MUST cease!

May God Save Ghana.
