The two ongoing cases involving Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, have been adjourned to November 12 and December 4, 2025.

In the first case, concerning allegations that Wontumi allowed mining operations on his Samreboi concession without the required approval, the court adjourned proceedings to November 12. The prosecution requested additional time to serve the defense with all relevant disclosures.

The second case, which accuses Wontumi of conducting mining activities within the Tano Nimire Forest Reserve without authorization, has been postponed to December 4 because the presiding judge is on leave.

Meanwhile, the Attorney General has withdrawn charges against the fourth accused, Edward Akuoko, General Manager of Akonta Mining, a company owned by Wontumi. Akuoko will now serve as a prosecution witness in the ongoing cases.
