The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has announced the confirmation of 13 new Mpox cases, bringing the country’s total confirmed infections to 947.

In an update released on Monday, December 29, the GHS also reported two new deaths linked to the disease, raising the cumulative death toll to six.

Health authorities, however, indicated that no Mpox patient is currently on admission.

According to the GHS, Mpox spreads mainly through close contact with an infected person. The Service has therefore urged the public to remain vigilant and strictly observe preventive measures, including good personal hygiene.

The GHS advised individuals to promptly report to the nearest health facility if they experience symptoms such as fever, rash, headache, muscle aches, swollen lymph nodes, chills, or persistent tiredness.

Health officials further encouraged early reporting and timely medical attention as key measures to help contain the spread of the virus and protect public health.
