ACCRA – Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Director of Communications for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign, has declared that Dr. Bawumia is the frontrunner in the upcoming NPP internal presidential primaries.
Speaking during an engaging conversation on Good Afternoon Ghana with host Desmond Okraku Danso, Aboagye confidently claimed that the probability of Dr. Bawumia emerging victorious in the primaries, scheduled for January 31, 2026, is significantly higher than that of any other contender.
“When it comes to the NPP internal primaries, if we’re to find X, the probability that Dr. Bawumia will win is higher than all other candidates,” Aboagye said, adding that Bawumia stands “head and shoulders” above his competitors.
The upcoming NPP primaries are poised to determine the party’s candidate for the 2028 general elections, and Aboagye’s comments are an assertive display of confidence in the Vice President’s bid.
Aboagye highlighted Dr. Bawumia’s strong track record, leadership capabilities, and unparalleled experience as key factors driving his momentum. With less than a year to go before the primaries, Bawumia’s campaign team is already building substantial support both at the grassroots level and among party elites.
The NPP’s 2026 flagbearer race is expected to be a fierce contest, but Aboagye’s words suggest that Dr. Bawumia is not only a contender — but the man to beat.
