Flagbearer race: shun insults, embrace unity – Danny Opoku Antwi to NPP

The youth wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the United States has called for calm and decorum among party supporters as the contest for the party’s next flagbearer intensifies.

In a statement signed by its Youth Organizer, Danny Opoku Antwi, the group expressed concern over what it described as an increasing trend of insults, personal attacks, and divisive rhetoric within the party’s ongoing internal campaign.

“The insults, innuendos, and personal attacks creeping into the NPP discourse lately are deeply unfortunate and will not help our cohesion moving forward,” the statement said.

Mr. Antwi urged supporters of all aspirants to prioritise unity and focus on promoting the party’s values rather than engaging in internal strife.

“As we vigorously campaign for our respective candidates, we must remain mindful that unity after January 31 is crucial,” he said. “Let love lead our words; let decorum guide our actions. Above all, let us uphold the interest of the Party above individual ambitions.”

The youth leader warned that disunity could harm the NPP’s chances in the next general election, saying that without cohesion, “not even Jesus Christ or Prophet Mohammed (SAW) could secure victory for us.”

The statement, which ended with a call for solidarity and patriotism, reaffirmed the youth wing’s loyalty to the NPP’s ideals and commitment to Ghana’s democratic progress.
