The Ghana Health Service (GHS) says the national tally of Mpox cases recorded as of August 7, 2025, has reached 346 following the confirmation of 18 new cases of the disease.
However, the country’s death toll due to the disease remains at one as no new fatalities have been recorded in the latest update.
The GHS attributes the spread of Mpox primarily to close physical contact with infected individuals.
Symptoms include fever, skin rashes, and swollen lymph nodes.
To curb the spread, the public is advised to maintain good hygiene practices, including regular handwashing and avoiding close contact with individuals exhibiting symptoms.
The health service emphasises the importance of seeking medical attention immediately if symptoms occur.
The GHS is actively monitoring the situation, collaborating with regional health authorities to trace contacts, enhance public awareness, and manage the outbreak effectively.
