This announcement, made by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, at a press conference on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, reveals a clear and structured timetable for the upcoming internal elections.

The elections, a crucial step in the party’s leadership process, will follow a comprehensive sequence of events, designed to ensure transparency and fairness. Key dates and procedures were outlined, which include the opening and closing of nominations, vetting of candidates, and the final election day.

Key Dates and Timeline:

Opening and Closing of Nominations: August 10 to 14, 2026

Filing of Nominations: August 15 to 17, 2026

Vetting of Aspirants: August 20 to 23, 2026

Vetting Report Reading: August 25, 2026

Appeals Period: August 28 to 29, 2026

National Executive Elections: September 18 to 20, 2026

Mr. Kodua Frimpong also revealed that several key leadership positions within the party are set to expire during this period, making the elections all the more critical as the NPP seeks to elect new leaders for its executive roles.
