The Member of Parliament for Suhum, Frank Aseidu Bekoe affectionately known as Protozoa, has pledged his readiness to collaborate with corporate bodies, faith-based organisations and well-meaning individuals to improve healthcare delivery at the Suhum Government Hospital.

Speaking at the commissioning and handing over ceremony of a newly constructed Executive Ward Block donated by the Church of Pentecost on Friday, January 9, 2026, the MP said improving health infrastructure remained a shared responsibility and called for collective support to strengthen the facility, particularly its emergency services.

Mr Aseidu Bekoe revealed that he has consistently engaged the Minister of Health on the floor of Parliament to advocate for the establishment of an Accident and Emergency Centre at the hospital, noting that it serves as a major referral point for accident victims along the Accra–Kumasi highway and surrounding communities.

“Together with the community, I am ready to partner corporate bodies and other spirited organisations to ensure our emergency ward is efficient and capable of serving not only Suhum but the entire country,” he stated.

The Executive Ward Block comprises six to twelve bed capacity, two consulting rooms for doctors, two changing rooms for nurses, and two storage rooms for non-drug medical items.

The facility is expected to significantly enhance the quality of healthcare delivery at the hospital.

Mr Aseidu Bekoe expressed profound appreciation to the Church of Pentecost, Suhum Area, particularly Apostle Patrick and his wife, for their immense contribution and continuous support towards the project.

He also commended the construction team, donors, and hospital staff for their dedication.

He urged the management of the hospital and all stakeholders to ensure the facility is properly maintained and effectively utilised for the long-term benefit of patients, stressing that quality healthcare is not a luxury but a fundamental human right.

The MP expressed confidence that the new ward would play a critical role in improving healthcare outcomes and promoting health-led development within Suhum and its environs.
