The New Patriotic Party has convened an emergency meeting involving its national leadership, flagbearer and legal team to review a court judgment involving Ashanti Regional Chairman Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, and decide on the party’s next course of action.

The meeting is focused on assessing the court’s decision in the case relating to the Samreboi mining matter and determining the appropriate response.

In a statement signed by the party’s General Secretary, Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP said its official position would be made public after the ongoing deliberations.

The party appealed to its members to remain calm and united while the leadership completes its assessment of the judgment.

Mr Frimpong urged supporters to rally behind the party during what he described as a challenging period, stressing the need for discipline and a continued commitment to the values and interests of the NPP.

He said further communication would be issued once the leadership had concluded its discussions and reached a decision.
