Assemblies of God delegation pays prayer visit to TOR, offers spiritual support for leadership

In a symbolic show of faith and solidarity, a high-powered delegation from the Bethel Family Chapel, Assemblies of God – Tema, has paid a prayer visit to the Tema Oil Refinery (TOR), invoking divine guidance and blessings for the refinery’s leadership

The visit, undertaken on behalf of the General Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, Rev. Dr. Stephen Wengam, was led by Rev. Andrews Nelson Awintia, Greater Accra Regional Superintendent of the church. The 11-member delegation offered fervent prayers for TOR’s Acting Managing Director, Mr. Edmond Kombat, Esq., and Deputy Managing Director, Alhaji Mustapha Abubakar Batalima.

The prayers were centered on asking for divine strength, wisdom, and protection for the leadership team as they spearhead the refinery’s current transformation agenda — focused on Transforming, Optimizing, and Resetting operations at Ghana’s premier refining facility.

In a warm response, Mr. Kombat expressed profound gratitude to the church delegation for what he described as a “deeply uplifting and timely intervention,” noting that spiritual support was as crucial as technical expertise in navigating the challenges facing the refinery.

“We are encouraged by your presence and prayers,” he said. “TOR is not just a national asset, but a symbol of hope and resilience. We are grateful for your continued intercession for TOR and the nation.”

The visit forms part of broader efforts by the Assemblies of God Church to support national development through prayer, civic engagement, and strategic partnerships with key public institutions.

TOR’s leadership has recently embarked on reforms aimed at restoring the refinery to full operational capacity, amid growing public and government expectations for improved performance and accountability.
