Bawumia poised for victory as delegates poll begins – Global InfoAnalytics

Former Vice President and 2024 Presidential Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is entering the October 2025 delegates’ polling phase with a commanding advantage, according to new data released by Global InfoAnalytics.

The survey, published this morning, indicates that Dr Bawumia remains the preferred choice among an overwhelming majority of NPP voters, both nationally and in the Ashanti Region.

Nationally, 72 per cent of NPP voters who supported Dr Bawumia in the 2024 elections say they still stand firmly behind him to lead the party, compared to 20 per cent for Dr Kwabena Agyei Agyepong (KOA).

In the Ashanti Region — a traditional NPP stronghold — the numbers are even higher, with 73 per cent backing Dr Bawumia.

These figures underscore his enduring popularity and strong connection with the party’s grassroots.

What is particularly striking, according to Global InfoAnalytics, is the former Vice President’s growing appeal among disgruntled NPP voters who crossed party lines to vote for John Dramani Mahama (JDM) in 2024.

In the Ashanti Region, 63 per cent of these disillusioned voters now prefer Dr Bawumia, compared to 21 per cent for KOA — a development analysts describe as a major comeback for the NPP’s 2024 flagbearer.

Commenting on the findings, the research group said, “As the October 2025 delegates’ poll begins, Dr Bawumia enters the race with significant momentum.”

Party insiders suggest the results reflect widespread confidence in Dr Bawumia’s leadership credentials and his vision for national transformation.

With the January 2026 primaries approaching, the former Vice President’s message of unity, innovation, and economic renewal appears to be resonating strongly across the NPP base.
