Have confidence in me, I will bring ‘Abrokyire’ to Ghana – Bawumia

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirant Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has assured Ghanaians of a future anchored on innovation, expanded opportunities, and stronger economic foundations should he be elected president.

Addressing supporters in Ketu South, the former Vice President appealed for public trust in his bid for the highest office, urging voters to reflect on his performance in government.

He reminded the gathering of his achievements in office, stressing that a full presidential mandate would enable him to attract more foreign investment and fast-track national development.

“Believe in me,” he said. “You’ve witnessed what I was able to accomplish as Vice President. With your full mandate as President, I will bring more international investment into Ghana.”

Dr. Bawumia encouraged supporters to look beyond current economic challenges and consider the long-term benefits of practical ideas and forward-looking policies. He emphasised that true national transformation is grounded in creativity and problem-solving, not merely current income levels.

Highlighting his role in Ghana’s digital reforms, he referenced improvements in mobile money interoperability as a key example. He noted that, until recently, transferring funds across different mobile networks or linking bank accounts to mobile wallets was impossible.

“But we believed it could be done, and today it is a reality,” he said.

He further stated that the progress in the digital financial sector has contributed significantly to job creation. According to him, the number of mobile money agents has grown from about 107,000 to roughly 900,000 during his tenure—an expansion he described as a major boost to employment.
