The National Organiser of the New Patriotic Party, Henry Nana Boakye, widely known as Nana B, has formally announced his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the party’s upcoming national executive elections.
In a statement directed at party executives, elders, patrons, and members, Nana B explained that his decision is rooted in his long-standing service to the party and a renewed commitment to strengthen its structures ahead of the 2028 general elections. “By the grace of God, and after twenty-six years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he declared.
Nana B recounted his journey within the NPP, beginning at the grassroots level where he served as a polling station executive in Manhyia, Tarkwa-Nsuaem, and Oforikrom constituencies. He was also a member of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Campaign Team and later became Communications Officer for Oforikrom Constituency. His leadership extended to student politics, where he served as TESCON President at both the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).
At the regional and national levels, Nana B played key roles as a member of the Ashanti Regional Communications and Campaign Teams, Director of Events and Programmes for the National Youth Wing, and later as National Youth Organiser. His influence also reached the international stage, where he served as Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
He has been part of the National Communications Team, contributed to the 2020 Presidential Election Petition Legal Team, and served on both the 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams. Nana B also held positions on the 2025 National Delegates Conference Planning Committee, the National Steering Committee, the National Executive Committee, and the National Council.
In his declaration, Nana B appealed to party members for support, prayers, and guidance as he embarks on his campaign. He emphasised that his aspiration is driven by a renewed sense of purpose and a determination to reposition the NPP for electoral success.
