New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidate hopeful, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, says the party has a greater chance of winning the 2028 elections.
Speaking at the commencement of his campaign tour dubbed: “Our Journey Together” at the Sene East Constituency, Dr Bawumia said data from the 2024 elections showed that the NPP could have won if all its sympathizers had voted.
He noted that 2.1 million people who voted for the NPP in 2020 failed to do so in 2024, adding that the margin between the NPP and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was 1.7 million votes.
Dr Bawumia, who is seeking to lead the party in the 2028 elections, therefore, urged party members not to lose hope but to unite to ensure victory in the next elections.
He said the NPP lost the 2024 elections because it failed to mobilize its members and sympathizers to vote, adding that the party would win the 2028 elections if it put its house in order.
