Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin has deferred the commencement of Parliament’s Third Meeting indefinitely, citing circumstances beyond his control.

The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, has announced the indefinite postponement of the commencement of the Third Meeting of the First Session of the Ninth Parliament of the Fourth Republic.

In a formal notice dated October 6, 2025, and issued from his office at Parliament House, Accra, the Speaker explained that the scheduled meeting—originally set to resume on October 14, 2025—has been deferred until further notice.

The communication did not specify the nature of the “circumstances” prompting the decision but assured that a new date for resumption will be announced in due course.

The deferral means that parliamentary activities—expected to resume this month following the recess—will remain on hold.
