Bawumia widens lead as public approval increases – Global InfoAnalytics poll

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is leading the race as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer primary approaches, according to the latest poll by Global InfoAnalytics.

In its latest survey, Executive Director Mussa Dankwa revealed that Dr. Bawumia’s favourability among NPP delegates has risen, while that of his rivals has generally declined. Respondents were asked to rate how favourable they viewed each candidate—a measure of popularity as the election approaches.

Dr. Bawumia’s favourability increased from 91% in the previous survey to 92%, signaling strong potential to convert support into votes.

“When your favourability is increasing, it means you are likely to translate that into votes. If it’s declining, you risk losing them,” Dankwa explained.

By contrast, Kennedy Agyapong’s favourability dropped from 88% to 83%, Bryan Acheampong fell from 83% to 81%, Osei Yaw Adutwum remained steady at 77%, and Kwabena Adjei Agyapong declined from 76% to 72%.

On overall support, Bawumia leads with 43%, followed by Kennedy Agyapong at 18%, Bryan Acheampong at 5%, while Osei Yaw Adutwum and Kwabena Adjei Agyapong are near zero.

However, 34% of delegates remain undecided or unwilling to disclose their preference, leaving a significant share of votes still up for grabs. Even so, Bawumia would need less than one-third of these undecided votes to secure a majority.

In a separate social media survey among NPP supporters, Bawumia also extended his lead. His support rose from 56% in September to 75% in December, while Kennedy Agyapong dropped sharply from 40% to 18%. Dr. Yaw Osei-Adutwum fell from 3% to 1%, Bryan Acheampong increased from 1% to 5%, and Kwabena Agyapong rose from 0% to 1%.
