The world’s leading producer of cocoa has just released a press statement maintaining the approximately GHC 3,600 equivalent price for a 64 kg bag of cocoa for the 2025/26 main cocoa season.

Read the full statement:

The Coffee-Cocoa Council informs all coffee-cocoa sector producers that the guaranteed farmgate purchase price for cocoa fixed for the 2025-2026 main campaign at 2800 F CFA (GHC56) per kilogram, across the entire national territory, remains unchanged until March 31, 2026.

The Coffee-Cocoa Council further reminds that, in accordance with the regulations in force, the maximum legal deadline for full payment of delivered products is set at one (01) month from the date of effective delivery.

Any failure to meet the obligations regarding compliance with the minimum guaranteed price and compliance with the legal deadline for full payment of delivered products exposes offenders to the sanctions provided for by the regulations in force.

Consequently, the Coffee-Cocoa Council invites coffee-cocoa producers to report all cases of non-compliance with the guaranteed minimum price and/or delays in payment to its competent services and administrative authorities so that offenders suffer the rigour of the law.

The Coffee-Cocoa Council reaffirms its commitment to ensure strict compliance with regulations, with a view to guaranteeing the protection of producers’ incomes, the transparency of transactions, and the proper functioning of the coffee-cocoa sector.
